Something That You Might Want To Think About...
                                            Ishmael Wilson
                          Jesus Is Coming Again!

BUT NO MAN KNOWS WHEN!  Jesus said, “But of that day and hour knoweth
no man, no not the angels in heaven, but my Father only
” (Matthew 24:36).

MANNER OF HIS COMING:  “
Behold he cometh with clouds and every eye shall
see him, and they also which hath pierced him, and all kindreds of the earth shall
wail because of him, Even so, Amen
” (Revelation 1:7).
COMING IN HIS GLORY, WITH HIS HOLY ANGELS!

When the son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him,
then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory.  And before him shall be gathered
all nations.  And he shall separate them, one from another, as a shepherd divideth
his sheep from the goats
” (Matthew 25:31,32).

JESUS IS COMING WITH TEN THOUSANDS OF HIS SAINTS!  “
And Enoch,
also the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these sayings, Behold the Lord cometh
with ten thousands of his saints.
” WHY?  “To execute judgment upon all, and to
convince all that are ungodly among them  of all their ungodly deeds which they
have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners
have spoken against him
” (Jude 14,15).

JESUS IS COMING IN FLAMING FIRE:  “
And to you who are troubled rest with
us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In
flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God and that obey not the
Lord Jesus Christ.  Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the
presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power.  When he shall come to be
glorified in his saints...
” (II Thessalonians 1:7-10).

JESUS’ COMING IS UNEXPECTED:  “
But of the times and seasons, brethren, ye
have no need that I should write unto you.  For yourselves know perfectly that the
day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night
” (I Thessalonians 5:1,2).  “But
the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in the which the heavens
shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat,
and the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up
” (II Peter 3:
10).  “
Watch therefore for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come
(Matthew 24:42 [43-51]).

WE MAY BE DEAD WHEN JESUS COMES!  It makes no difference whether
we be dead or alive: “
Marvel not at this for the hour is coming in the which all
that are in the graves shall hear his voice.  And shall come forth, they have done
good unto the resurrection of life, and they that have done evil, unto the
resurrection of damnation
” (John 5:28,29).

JESUS’ COMING WILL BE QUICKLY!  “
For as the lightening cometh out of
the east and shineth even unto the west, shall also the coming of the son of man
be
” (Matthew 24:27).

WHAT IF JESUS WOULD COME RIGHT NOW?  WOULD YOU BE READY?
YOU CAN BE!  Jesus told his disciples to go into all the world and preach the
gospel, and he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved, but he that
believeth not shall be damned (cf Mark 16:15,16).  And they did this, because
in Acts chapters 1 and 2 we find the disciples in Jerusalem preaching the
gospel.  The Jews, after hearing the gospel, cried out and said, “
Men and
brethren what shall we do?
”  And Peter said unto them, “Repent and be baptized
everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall
receive the gift of the Holy Spirit
” (Acts 2:38).

When we continue reading the book of Acts we find in the eighth chapter a
man named Philip (this is not the apostle Philip, but Philip the evangelist) who
went down to Samaria and preached Jesus unto those people.  Those who
believed what Philip preached were baptized both men and women  (cf. Acts 8:
12).  Acts 8:26-40; Acts 10:47,48; Acts 16:13-15; Acts 16:33; Acts 18:8; Acts
22:16; Romans 6:1-17; Galatians 3:26-29 and Colossians 2:12.

                                                             MAY WE HELP YOU?

                                     ARE YOU READY
                                     Jerry D. McDonald

Everyone is going to face the judgement some day.  We don’t know when that
day will be.  We don’t know if we will be alive or dead when the Lord returns,
but the Bible clearly points out to us that every one will face the judgement.
The apostle Paul wrote: “
For we must all appear before the judgement seat of
Christ...
” (II Corinthians 5:10).  There is no getting around it, we are going to
stand before God in that day and as Paul went on to write:  “...
that everyone
may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether
it be good or bad
” (II Corinthians 5:10).

Many would rather just refuse to look at the facts so they won’t be bothered
with it, but refusing to look at the facts won’t change what is going to
happen.  Truth is not dependent upon a person’s belief in it.  It is truth
whether one believes in it or not.  So the intelligent thing is to just prepare
for his coming.

No one knows when Christ is going to come.  Jesus said, “
Watch ye therefore,
for ye know neither the day nor the hour whenin the son of man cometh

(Matthew 25:13).  He could come at any time, and he might not come for a
thousand years.  Who knows?

However, one thing is for certain and that is if Christ does not come within
our lifetime we will die and for all practical purposes we are judged.  In writing
to the Hebrew Christians, Paul wrote: “
For it is appointed unto man, once to
die and after this the judgement
” (Hebrews 9:27).

In the story of the rich man and Lazarus found in Luke 16:19-31 the rich man
died and when he awoke he was in the realm for the dead.  The King James
Version calls it “hell” and it is translated from the word “hadea.”  Other
translations transliterate the word and use the word “hades.”  Whichever
word is used it refers to the realm of the dead.  There are two sections of
“hades”: There is “paradise” (where Jesus told the thief on the cross that he
would be with him–Luke 23:43) and this is the place where Lazarus was in
Abraham’s bosom.  Then there is “tartarus” (where Jude said that angels that
fell went to–Jude verse 6) and this is where the rich man woke up.

He was in flames and in torment: “
And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in
torments, and seeth Abraham afar off and Lazarus in his bosom.  And he cried
and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me , and send Lazarus that he may dip
the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue for I am tormented in his flame

(Luke 16:26,27).  This was something that really happened, it wasn’t a
parable.  The rich man, though he wasn’t in eternal fire, was in torment and
would be reserved there until the final judgement of man.

He could have saved himself all this pain and anguish if he had just been
prepared for death.  We prepare for death with life insurance for our families
and with burial insurance so we can have a proper burial.  Why don’t we place
as much emphasis on being prepared to meet God in death or in judgement?

The rich man wished that he had been prepared and even wanted to send
Lazarus to his father’s house to talk to his brothers to keep them from
coming to that awful place.  However, he couldn’t even do that.

It is a shame that men don’t prepare for eternity as much as they prepare for
material things.  This earth and all that is in it will someday come to nought,
but the soul of man lives on.

If Christ were to come today, or if you were to die today, would you be ready?
If not, why not get ready today?  All you have to do is to hear God’s word
(John 5:25); believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God (John 8:24); repent of
your sins (Acts 2:38); confess Christ before men (Acts 8:37) and be baptized
into Christ for the remission of your sins (Acts 2:38; 22:16)?  When you do
these things, you won’t have to join anything, or you won’t have to be voted in
because Christ will automatically add you to his church (Acts 2:47).

ARE YOU READY?  IF NOT WHY NOT GET READY TODAY?
